Penelope Buitenhuis

Penelope Buitenhuis has worked as a filmmaker writer/ director in Canada and Europe for over 20 years. Her works combine modern realism with visual metaphors and enough narrative twists to keep the film at once exciting and unexpected. Influenced by the works of Fassbinder, Godard and Truffaut, she lived for ten years in Germany and France working as an auteur and developing her own aesthetic in a highly charged political climate.
