Amalia Zarranz

Amalia Zarranz has an MFA from Columbia University, was born in Havana, raised in Las Vegas, and lives in New York City. She received New Line Cinema’s Development award for “Mercury in Retrograde.” Her first narrative short, “Tall Girl,” screened at film festivals including Sundance, Clermont-Ferrand, Aspern Shortsfest, Shortshorts, advanced to the Regional Student Academy Awards in the USA, and aired on PBS in 2004.
