Mike Hooves is a prairie queer living in Calgary. They are an illustrator, animator, graphic designer, and filmmakers who has a Bachelor of Design in Illustration from ACAD. Mike has directed two films including G.E.M. and POLYMORPH. Within Mike’s work they explore what it means to exist as a femme inside and outside of the body through graphic color and shape. She believes that unpolished expression in art allows for genuine emotion to stay intact, and practices this in her art.
