Fort Frontenac was established as a French trading and military post in 1673 but after the British takeover in 1758, the city of Kingston was built around and over the fort. “Walls Below the Pavement” follows the activity at the Fort Frontenac dig during the summer of 1984 as an archaeological team investigates the complex, multi-layered site.
